Was There a Ghost in My Client’s Home?
In time for Halloween, here’s a spooky encounter my client experienced.
With Halloween just around the corner, now is the perfect time to take a break from our usual content and share a spooky experience I had when helping an acquaintance sell his home.
The first step we took before listing was to give it a little polish. We repainted, added fresh drywall, and re-finished the hardwood floors. Suffice it to say, there was a lot of dust being kicked up from all the construction.
One Monday, the contractor and my client met up to discuss the progress being made on the home. During their conversation, the contractor asked my client if they had been at the house over the weekend. They also asked if my client had one of their kids with them. Confused, my client told them they hadn’t been—not only that, but my client also explained that he doesn’t have any kids.
Hopefully this story puts you in the Halloween “spirit.”
”When my client asked the contractor why he asked this, the contractor explained that he had found children’s footprints in the construction dust that had settled all over the floors and furniture. Hearing this, my client was instantly chilled to the core. As if the contractor’s story wasn’t strange enough, it instantly reminded my client of an experience he’d had once in the home.
Once, while sleeping on the couch, my client awoke to an unfamiliar noise. He looked around to investigate, and that’s when his eyes landed on a sight he wasn’t expecting: Standing in the doorway between the couch and the kitchen was a young girl (probably three or four) wearing an antique sundress. My client closed his eyes, not able to comprehend what he had just seen, and when he opened them, the girl was gone. Eventually, he let this unsettling encounter fall to the back of his mind. It wasn’t until the contractor told him about the footprints that it all came flooding back.
So what do you think? Did my client see a spirit? We may never know. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, hopefully this story put you in the Halloween “spirit.”
